I’ve been incarcerated since the age of 19 and am embarking on my 20th consecutive year. I was recently released from Death Row. While I was on Death Row, I was not afforded the privilege of participating in classes or programs because there was no need to educate someone that was expected to “expire soon.” Since my release from Death Row, I have achieved many milestone accomplishments, such as publishing 5 children’s books on Amazon (“Stereo-What?!”, “Trans-What?!”, “Love is Love”, “Chloe and her Bike” and “Cats are Cats”). I have also earned a double Associate’s Degree and am currently pursuing my BA in Business.
Finding a reason to inhale instead of breathing simply to exist while in prison can be very challenging. Against all odds, I have found my “why” and am seeking to have ambitious, like-minded people in my corner. Maybe we can help each other in a positive way.
