Alexander is 38 and incarcerated in the US (CA).
My name is Alex. I’m Italian, Russian, and Irish. I have been incarcerated for eight years. I have done everything I can to use this time to better myself. I can honestly say that I’m proud of the person I am today. I have eight years clean and sober. I have earned four college degrees in business, history, psychology, and social sciences. I’m a certified alcohol and other drug counselor registered with CAADE (an AOD certifying board). I work as a peer support specialist here at San Quentin State Prison, where I act as a liaison between medical and mental health and their patients, as well as running and facilitating self-help groups to make my community a better place. I volunteer for two non-profit organizations called Skunkworks and Humans of San Quentin.
I’m going to be getting out of prison in four years, and I’m looking to network and make connections. I want to meet people who are interested in getting to know the person I am today. We all make mistakes, and I’m sure you wouldn’t want to be defined by the worst thing you’ve ever done. All I’m asking for is that same grace.
I’m a nerd. I like to play video games, Magic: The Gathering, and Dungeons and Dragons. I’m a published poet and a hip-hop artist. My music is on over fifty apps and websites, including Spotify, iHeartRadio, Apple Music, and SoundCloud under the artist name “Poetic Injustice.” I grew up here in the San Francisco Bay Area. I love going to Muir Woods, Muir Beach, and enjoying the outdoors.
