Hey there! I’m Carl aka Neach. Super cool to meet you. I’ve been locked up since I was 17. Yeah, intense. I’ve used the last 22 years getting clean, sober, mentally and spiritually sound and centered. I’m a singer, songwriter, and an artist. I play piano, the guitar, and make art with pastel and coffee. I tattoo as well.

I’m a sneakerhead and I can’t wait to put my art all over some Ones, Threes, Dunks, Chucks, and Vans. Can’t wait to tat either. I act in plays in a prison theatre program. I write essays and poetry. I chair AA and NA meetings and facilitate CBT groups and GOGI groups for overcoming criminal thinking and addiction. I work as a tutor for ABE, ESL, GED, and some college classes. Service is a large part of my recovery.

I switched addictions to physical fitness: bodybuilding, CrossFit, powerlifting, and cardio. Yoga as well lately. The gym is like a temple to me.I love all music; I grew up in a very musical and diverse house. Mostly I sing and write blues, soul, and pop-folk. I’ve developed my own sound from years of church choirs, a cappella, etc. Though being incarcerated doesn’t give you the best exposure to new music.

I would love to travel everywhere and eat all this good food I keep seeing. So jealous!!! Feels like I’ve been in the same place too long. I’d love to learn more about others’ culture and history.

Three years ago, I was given the opportunity to parole 21 years early. I can see the Board any time now, though I struggle to feel worthy of it. I lost almost all contact with the outside for a long time while I worked on me. I have never been married, have no kids, and almost everyone I know I met in prison.

I’m looking to find some friends or mentors to talk about life, joy, happiness, and rejoin society. Hope to hear from you soon.
