To whomever is interested,

As I sit here daydreaming, vividly reminiscing all the high times… hustling, getting loaded on pills, drugs, and booze, truly partying like a rock star, living in hotels with no responsibility, rocking it out making money, friends and enemies wherever I go, living my outlaw lifestyle, wheeling and dealing out of control into a downward spiral… So, as I vaguely remember one morning watching the sun come up, pondering on what my life consists of and knowing damn well where my poor decisions are taking me to…

There’s a bang on the door and I snap out of it and come back to reality. My new reality, my new life, you guessed it… locked up? And, as a correction officer rolls the doors for “chow” (meal time), I’m convinced we are free to choose, but we are not free from the consequences of our choices. Ironically, I spend my days transforming a negative situation into a positive one. I never resist change when it comes. I’m currently enrolled in college, working on my basic Associate’s Degree (because it’s all they offer here). Attending and completing faith-based and cognitive classes, utilizing my time wisely and improving my lifestyle is “BIG”!

I’m really into music, learning, cooking, tattoos, exercising daily, playing handball and watching sports (how about them Cowboys). Let me tell you though, cooking is what I’m passionate about the most. I love it and plan on furthering my knowledge and skills by going to school to be an executive chef when released. I do want to thank God my family is still kicking and well and has made it through the pandemic. I hope your family is okay as well. I believe everything happens for a reason, but you’re drunk, Covid! GO HOME! 😉 There is a time and a place for everything. Maybe this is my time to shine and become a better man.

Please, if you email on JPay, always include your mailing address for me to write you back, as it is the only way I can reply until the Texas Department of Criminal Justice issues us our tablets (coming soon). Until you write, thanks, much love and all respect.
