Eliazar is 27 and incarcerated in the US (CA).
My life has been a journey of many uncertainties. I have accomplished, and I have failed; I’ve lost, and I’ve gained. Fortunately, resiliency has become a huge part of my identity. Even while being in the midst of incarceration, I’ve been blessed to discover things I enjoy about myself, things I want the world to know as far as what I believe defines who I am at heart. I made some wrong choices early on in life, and it led to unwanted consequences, yet I am at the point where I’ve established self-connection and have used it to develop my true authentic self. I am striving to build my life based on becoming a stronger, more devout Christian. What does that look like? I love to serve God through singing, along with being a Christian rap artist. Music has always been food for my soul. I am also a peer support specialist here at San Quentin, who facilitates many different self-help groups. Even though my past reflects a different person, who I am today is what matters most, someone who enjoys a life of service. I have become willing to share the real me with anyone willing to do the same. If you asked me how I would define myself using three words, I’d say “redeemed, mindful, and creative.” What about you?
I hope to find people who enjoy building connections based on shared values, beliefs, and experiences. However, I am also open to learning more from anyone looking to foster a connection in any way. I like to engage in deep conversation, but I also like to laugh and have a good time. I’m involved in many life-changing programs here at San Quentin and would like to share my experiences with you. What would you want to share about your experiences?
