Makueeyapee is 42 and incarcerated in the US (NJ).
So, my name is Makueeyapee D. Whitford, and I’m interested in creating a coalition of individuals who can help me with a project of mine concerning getting the news out about my wrongful conviction and also about my activities as a Jailhouse Lawyer. I’m looking for donations of time, funding, and resources.
I’m also looking for people interested in creating a documentary about all of this. I’ve already been on Netflix and now I’m talking to a producer who worked on the “Dexter” films, concerning this documentary. It would be nice to turn it into a series. However, it is going to take a lot of work. Check out my Netflix documentary for more on my wrongful conviction.
As for my Jailhouse Lawyers activities, I’m currently in the 9th Circuit fighting a case concerning the Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act, where Montana State Prison and Department of Corrections uses religion as an incentive in disciplinary hearing sanctions.
I was transferred to New Jersey State Prison after successfully fighting that case and winning injunctive relief. Now I’m working with Rights Behind Bars and the Jailhouse Lawyer’s Initiative to change things here at the New Jersey State Prison also.
I look forward to a world where we can all strive for a better future and where all human beings are treated with respect and dignity.
