Hello,

My name is Pat D. and I joined Wire of Hope hoping to find you, with your friendly banter and colorful conversation here in my hour of need 🙂 I find myself in Pelican Bay, a place sorely lacking in open, honest and supportive interactions. So, I look to you to confide in, to laugh with and to be my window to the outside world I long to return to.

I’ve got quite a bit of time for a crime I did not commit (cliché perhaps, but true). I won’t bore you with my woes, as I choose to make the best of a bad situation, doing all I can to better myself, to fight to ensure a more just system and to keep my head up 🙂 To that end, I spend my days drawing and writing to keep my mind and my pen sharp. I work out to stay fit, as well as pursue activism for prison and justice reforms and most importantly doing all I can to remain connected to family and friends as best as I can. My days are far too routinely but I keep it interesting by enrolling in college and reading anything I can get my hands on while setting aside time to pursue an appeal. A bit boring, compared to previous hobbies of mine which included motocross, hiking, rock climbing and dancing (night clubs, not ball room).

Your friendship is a welcome excitement and I look forward to lavishing you with letters, distracting you with drawings and berating you with BS 😉 What’s life without laughs? I can’t wait to hear all about you and your world, enjoying the adventure of getting to know you. Thanks!
