Every profile I have had the chance to see or read, always starts off the person looking for a pen friend (penpal) or explaining why you should write to him/her. After reading over my last profile I decided that I wanted to be different from everyone else, so please allow me to start off by making you laugh, as I enjoy a good sense of humor and that is the only way to honestly get through life, that and with God in your life you cannot go wrong!

A Black man, a White man, a Native American man and a Latino man are standing on top of a cliff discussing the difficulties their people had undergone. The Native American man said, “My people have suffered the most. In honor of what they have endured, I will fling myself over this cliff in hopes that my blood will change things.” So he yelled, “THIS IS FOR MY PEOPLE!” and jumped off the cliff. The Latino, not wanting to be outdone, quickly looked at the other two and followed, yelling, “THIS IS FOR MY PEOPLE!” and he jumped off the cliff as well. The Black man was touched by all of this and decided it was his turn; so he yelled, “THIS IS FOR MY PEOPLE!”, and pushed the White man off the cliff!

Was I able to make you laugh? Good, now that I have your attention, allow me to share a little about myself. My friends call me “Blue” though my birth name is Richard. Not Rick, or Rich, not even Dick. You may call me either Blue or Richard if you decide that writing to me would be worth your time.

I’m a 44-year-old man who has been locked up here in Texas for 19 years, though I’m from a little town out in California called ‘Turlock’. I’m mixed with both Jamaican & Italian and speak a few different languages. I’m looking for someone who would like to possibly become friends and have some long-distance correspondence with someone such as I.

At one point in my life I was called by those in society as a killer, and own up to that though it’s no longer true, after spending so much time in prison. I have become a Man of God and have a deep and understanding relationship with Him and His Son Jesus Christ. I’m not looking to shove His Words into your face through letters nor am I looking to be judged by anyone.

What I am looking for is someone that can take a joke and wants to laugh and feel more alive than they have been feeling lately. So long as you are over the age of 18 years old and will always be honest in your letters. I’d like to correspond with you and just maybe over time you’ll see and understand that just because I made a mistake in my life that cost me my freedom, I’m no longer that same person and just maybe you’ll end up calling me your friend, and I you.

If you would like to learn more about me, feel free to write me a letter or send me an email on Securus. If you email me, please enclose a mailing address in case I cannot respond by email at this time.

Maybe you’re not one for jokes, but a poem?
“Life can be cruel, hard and cold.
Days can seem like years, never to unfold.
Hope becomes a thing of the past,
People stalk you and you wonder, “How long will this last?”
Loved ones shake their heads in disbelief.
Your siblings have left, because of the grief.
Life would be over if it wasn’t for something.
From deep within, burning like a fire,
God placed it there, it’s called Desire.
Desire to prevail, desire to go on despite
how many times you’ve failed.
Desire to overcome, desire to win,
Desire to tap into that potential that’s within.
Desire to evolve into who God has destined
you to be. Desire to conquer your fears.
Desire to run your race, giving no thought to the tears streaming
Down your face.
Desire to make an impact on
the world around you.
Desire to advance beyond the
point that God found you.
So fan your flames before you expire and make full use of your God-given

Until I hear from you, take care and be safe and know that I’m here waiting to hear from you.
