Hey, how you doin’? Since I’ve caught your attention, let me start off by saying I have all my teeth! I mean, that’s important, right? Well… all but one, that is. But I lost that when I was a kid, taking a header over the handlebars of my dirt bike, and kissing the asphalt! I don’t recommend trying it- kissing the asphalt, I mean. There are better and less painful ways of practicing THAT skill!
But it did teach me that regardless of what goes wrong in your life, it’s okay to have a quick cry, but then you gotta pick yourself up and carry on.
That’s how I’ve approached doing all this time, thankfully without having lost any more teeth. Which is surprising, since I’ve played the hell outta sports – football, softball, soccer, and handball (what safety gear?) – and may have gotten into a little BS over the years.
The latter part of that is in the past, but on the topic of B.S., I’ve earned one in Communications, double minoring in Business Administration and Business Management. I’ve also earned a B.A. in Organizational Leadership, with an emphasis in Ethics and Crisis Management. After seeing how many stupid things come about as a result of bravado and miscommunication, I wanted to improve my ability to speak so as not to be misunderstood, and tie that into the natural skills and abilities I already possessed in order to create a better version of me. This way, when I return to the community, I have something more to offer than being a thug and a drug dealer.
I’m on course to being paroled in the next few years and would like to meet someone or someones who want to go on an adventure with me, re-experiencing that strange, new world out there.
