Hello, my name is Shane, and I’m seeking a real connection.

I’ll be honest: I made plenty of bad decisions. I was part of a gang and took a road that led me here. But that’s not who I am anymore… I’ve worked hard to change, to grow, and to leave behind the person I used to be, which has only made my life in here even more difficult and lonely. Losing my sister and my mom very recently has made me realize how short life is and how much every second and real connections matter. Some days in here are excruciating, especially the long lockdowns where time moves painfully slow. Art is my escape. I love to draw, pouring my thoughts and emotions onto paper when words aren’t enough.

I will not allow my past to define me, but I know I have to get through what I’m going through to get where I’m meant to be. I hope to find friends to share this part of my journey with, someone to share thoughts, stories, and maybe even a few laughs with. What’s something you’re passionate about? Do you like art, what kind of music do you listen to? And, most importantly, do you laugh at bad jokes? Because I’ve got plenty!
