If there were a single thing I could try to conceptualize myself as, it’s the Pokémon Xatu. If only I could stare at the sun and find all the enlightenment in the world. Since I can’t do that, I’m content with heavy metal, fitness, and stacks of books to guide me.

I’ve been in prison for 9.5 years for being present while murders were committed when I was 17. I am currently 26, with about 8 years left before being able to parole. Though, I’m a glass-half-full kind of guy, and I refuse to allow the pitfalls of my life to dictate who I will be. It took a long time for me to realize that freedom isn’t this abstract and unobtainable concept that only a few people hold, but a mindset to be made a reality.

So, with that said, I’m pretty much a nerd. Dungeons and Dragons, comic books, anime, and a large dose of metal and philosophy are my interests. I’ve been obsessed with health and fitness for most of my adult life, and a large part of my childhood, seeing as I was practically raised on soccer and baseball fields. That’s been a driving force to keep me sane in this predicament since the beginning, and without that as a break in the monotony, I don’t know who or where I’d be.

There’s a lot I’ve missed out on, and the only thing I truly yearn to do is to simply experience life and allow the universe to pull me towards what is most beneficial for my future. I am a Cancer (on the cusp of Leo), I know how to read tarot cards and runes as a form of divination, and I find that the universe has gifted me with a mind bent towards growth, development, and advancement of myself and those around me.

With all that said, I think I’m at least as interesting as a salt rock.
