My demons chase me around my cell. Desperation and human decay are the smells I inhale, left with memories and “only if” thoughts. Hot nights in Miami; I can still taste the salt. But somewhere between the ocean and the canopy, I lost sight of our corporate takeover strategy, and our fairy tale morphed into an “Othello” tragedy. I became emotionally vulnerable, and past scars surfaced. I would get irrational and physical when nervous.
In shock, I wrote my sad confession plain and simple—no cursive, got to get this weight off my chest. My life has been “Sleepers” meets “A Beautiful Mind” becomes “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest.” So, instead of drafting contracts and trading stocks, I traded left hooks with prison gladiators in the box, spent over a decade feeling worthless.
Now, I’m desperately trying to turn this experience into a second chance with a higher purpose.
