Ismail Al-Musaafir

Hello, and thank you for dropping by. My name is Ismail, although my family still calls me Bobby Joe. I have spent more than half my life as a Muslim. But today, by the grace of our loving Father, I find myself wrapped in the saving embrace of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

I’m a born and raised Hoosier from Indiana. Raised partly in the country, partly in the city, I feel at home in either setting. However, I am more partial to the country, and am somewhat a bit of a cowboy. A pair of comfortable boots, a set of 42” muddy tires on the truck, towing horses out to the trail, all while blasting some Hank on the radio… I would consider that a near perfect day.

I can spend hours watching NASCAR, smoking up a brisket, or just waiting on the “big one” to bite. I enjoy nature, whether it’s hiking in a mountain forest, sailing around the islands, or diving an exotic reef somewhere in the world. I am a PADI-certified rescue diver, and have had the privilege to dive in many locations around the world.

I admit that my photos were taken just prior to my incarceration in 2019. Though, I promise you not much has changed. Just a bit more gray in the beard and shorter hair. I will try to get some updated photos displayed soon.

I am hoping to find friends who truly love Christ. Friends who can help in my spiritual growth. Individuals capable of overlooking the things I have done, and see the man I am trying to become. And if God so wills, maybe even my best friend.
