Ciao tutti! Hi everyone.

My name is Carl. I am of Sicilian origin and I was born and raised in New York City – so cooking is a real passion of mine! Even though I have been incarcerated for 42 years I still put a lot of time and energy into preparing food for myself and my fellow inmates – even without a hotplate or any utensils I can whip up a cheesecake, tacos or a hundred variations of Ramen noodles in a New York minute. Another passion of mine is art: I paint with watercolor and also use ink and with my headphones on and a paint brush in my hand I can travel anywhere in my imagination. I particularly like hard rock and really admire female guitar bands, but I have branched out into other kinds of music over the years, including classical and even flamenco.

I have also spent a lot of time and energy trying to become a better person in here – I had no background in crime before I was sentenced. Some tragic events in my life made my life spiral at a young age, but the realization of how my acts affected others was so profoundly shocking that it motivated me to read a lot of self-help books and do my best to put all I learned into practice and I try to be a support to family and friends in and outside these walls.

I am warm, witty and intelligent and I am looking for penpals in the US and abroad. I am interested in corresponding on a wide range of topics such as music, art, current affairs, cooking, books, films, sport, life and the universe.
