Amadeo is 41 and incarcerated in the US (FL).
Dear Ms. Anonymous,
First and foremost, thank you for your time. My family and friends call me “Yayo”, so please feel free to call me either. I am a reformed bad boy and have been incarcerated for over 20 years. I let down quite a few people with my actions and have spent the past years regretting my actions and rehabilitating myself. I am currently awaiting a sentence reduction under a “compassionate release” law. God willing, I will be home soon. If you care to know more about this, ask me, and I will gladly elaborate.
I am not the most religious person, but I definitely respect and fear God. I do not have any children, but I do love kids.
Here are some of the things I believe are my personal qualities. I am loving, caring, and very family-oriented. Confident, fun, spontaneous, respectful, loyal, honest, open-minded and I am NOT biased. I like to think I have a sense of humor, but I guess that would be for you to judge?!
As for what I do in here to pass the time, I work out regularly, I study the law to try to get home sooner than expected. I read a lot, play sports and occasionally watch TV. I’m big on sports…
Care to know more about me and my situation, write me and ask me anything, I’m an open book… I’d like to get to know you too!
Take care,
Amadeo
P.S. We can email back and forth on CorrLinks, but first please send me your email address by regular mail so I can add you to my contacts. Thank you!
Dear Reader,
Happy New Year! I would like to set the record straight about my sentence information on this profile…
A life sentence for a murder that I committed is bad enough, I agree. I am also very aware of how prejudicial the “Use of Explosives to Commit a Felony” may appear. “NO”, I am not a terrorist! Those explosives charges relate to the bullets in the guns I was charged with. Those charges were also illegal, I personally studied the law and in August of 2020 had the explosives charges dismissed, along with three gun charges.
At age 25, an offer of 30 years felt like a life sentence to me. So I exercised my right to go to trial, was convicted and ultimately punished with a life sentence for it.
As a teenager, I grew up in a gang-infested neighborhood which I could not extricate myself from. Like most youth, I gave into peer pressure and joined a gang for protection and ultimately made the senseless mistake to murder a rival gang member.
Due to a new law that takes into consideration a defendant’s age at the time of the crime (18 years and 26 days), their rehabilitation, prison record, remorse, time already served (21 years), family ties and other extraordinary circumstances to avoid any sentencing disparities, the judge in my case has agreed to take into consideration a sentence reduction.
I have completed innumerous programs, such as anger management, mastered barber skills and have been a mentor to inmates in the prison community as an ESL tutor in the prison’s education department.
I hope this adds a little insight to the child I used to be and the man I am today.
Take care,
Amadeo
