I believe that you and I were always destined to become friends. The timing just wasn’t right. I wholeheartedly believe that our time is now. My name is Jamell. I maintain no excuses for what led to my incarceration. I own all of my shortcomings and transgressions in life. It was imperative that I do so in order for me to experience the growth I desired. I’ve come a long way from my troubled beginnings. It’s said that the difference between boys and men are the lessons that they learn. I’ve learned many hard truths during my time away. Chief among them was learning what it felt like to be marginalized and all alone. I believe the true measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of adversity, rather they lie within his growth, good works, and achievements. The boy of my youth is gone; what remains is a solid individual that has been through the fire, tried, and tested. I stand before you as a changed man. I’ve learned a great deal and have applied myself and now have a new trajectory in sight. One that radiates positivity. Don’t take my word for it; see for yourself…

I signed up for this pen-pal site to hopefully meet some new friends. Someone that I could develop a lasting friendship with, that was understanding of my past. Who wouldn’t judge me or view me as someone unworthy of love and affection or incapable of redemption. Ultimately, I would love to meet someone that could see past all of my shortcomings of yesterday and see me as the man that I am today.
