I believe everything in life happens for a reason. I see prison as a steppingstone to success, one of God’s toughest tests. For simply trying to escape a racially aggressive life-threatening situation where a racist white cop threatened to shoot me, the state wrongfully charged, railroaded, and convicted me in a criminal injustice system. I’ve been fighting for nearly a decade to prove the truth, but the truth conquers slowly. I’m fighting to free myself from the bonds of oppression. As the saying goes, ‘Until the lion tells the story, the hunter will be the hero.’ Hope is truly a discipline.
