Greetings! My name is Miguel and I’m from Rioverde SLP México.
I’ve been incarcerated for 21 years, and unfortunately I haven’t had any communication with my family for many years, they live in México.
I’ve decided to reach out to the pen pal world hoping to find some type of connection with life outside these walls, someone kind enough to share thoughts, dreams and simple things about life that freedom has to offer.
I always try to find positivity in any situation, I’m open minded, caring, like to make people smile, share thoughts and just talk about life.

I’ve been sentenced to life in prison for robbery, as a first time offender, definitively, the punishment doesn’t meet the crime.
But I’m not letting this discouraging me. Exercising has helped me managing stress, clear my mind, and exercise, in my opinion, is the best way to take care of myself. I try to enjoy life, be happy with what I have, and I’m grateful for my learning opportunities.

I was also sentenced under code 18.2-31, which specify killing in the commission of robbery. This is unheard of, sentenced under such criminal code without been accused nor convicted of any murder crime, this in order to boost the results of the sentencing guidelines.
So, if you can, I would also very much appreciate any advice or assistance in the filings of documents for pursuing a sentence reduction or a new trial.

In prison during my period of rehabilitation, I’ve been striving to be a better person. I went from “no Engines” to earning my GED Certificate and participate in, and completed, many therapeutic/ educational programs.
Drawing is a habit that has helped me to express my self and show what’s in my heart and mind, and I love music 🙂
