To whomever it may concern:

I would like for you to know that my heart and soul go into each and everything that I approach. At this very moment, as my words enter into your mind, my sole purpose hopefully is to reach into your being so that we can establish some form of communication. I sincerely want you to learn who I am, where I am, and why I am, so that we can hopefully meet on common ground, not allowing color, weight, age, religion or any other set standards to become a wedge between good people.

To begin with, I will give you a brief description of my physical self. I stand 5 feet 8 inches and weigh 185 pounds. I have somewhat broad shoulders and a slim waist. I support a shaved head as you can see in these recently taken pictures a few weeks ago. My eyes are hazel and I have a medium white complexion. On May 25th, I turned 51 years of age.

Although I am not necessarily an excessively health-conscious person, I have never indulged in the consumption of drugs, smoking, or drinking alcohol. You’ll probably find that difficult to swallow (no pun intended), but actually my being in the good condition that I am can probably be attributed to those reasons especially.

They keep telling me romance and friendship are dead, but hey, I’m a dreamer, and I keep hoping to one day soon receive that mysterious fragrance scented letter that will take my mind away from all this, even if for just a brief moment. I was born in Puerto Rico, and raised in the West Hollywood area, in California. At the tender age of 17 years old, I somehow stumbled into love, totally oblivious to what I was getting myself into. I was led into the “glamor” of street life, unaware that I was running into a brick wall. I’ve crashed and burned shortly after that, and by age 19, I landed in prison.

Do you understand what I’m saying, whoever you are? Am I reaching you? Listen, I realize that life is a strange thing, and that’s putting it simple. For all of my trials and tribulations, for all my ups and downs, my tos and fros, I’m still baffled by the awesome twists and turns that life takes us on. Hell, one day you are soaring high in the sky and the next day, you are laying face down in the mud! The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know. You go all your life being taught that up is up and down is down, then one day discover that neither exists.

Before I go, I would like to say that we all have had our encounters with life’s disappointments. Some worse than others. Perhaps those scars are so deeply embedded that not even time will heal them maybe, yet we cannot exist without love and happiness. Food, oxygen and love are what we must have in order to live in any normal society. Yet, love is like the moth that is attracted by the candlelight. I’m somewhat like that moth, mainly because I’m compelled to be consumed by this thing we call love and friendship. And you…… what’s your story?
