Marbel Mendoza

My name is Marbel Mendoza, I’m a 56-year-old Cuban descendant who left Cuba in 1980 during its devastating revolution. I spent 2 years in Peru and then made my way to this country, landing in Miami, Florida, 1982. Now due to some very unfortunate circumstances I am/
have been on Florida’s death row since 1995.
Sad to say, but during my time incarcerated both of my parents have died. Dealing with that pain as an only child and knowing I have no other family members for emotional support, weights heavy on my heart. Then on top of it all I have to deal with and navigate my way through the daily struggles of “things” that come along with being a death row inmate and knowing you are an innocent man who stands adamant on his innocence.
I’m here simply looking for a pen friend/s who is/are willing to help brighten my sometimes sad lonely and depressed days by corresponding with me. Hopefully this will lead to a growing and stimulating friendship that will even allow me to live a little vicariously through you. I really am looking for someone who is very compassionate, understanding and willing to see the man who is behind the walls, not just the prisoner. Who knows as time goes on, I may just the one who puts a smile on your face or give you some needed encouragement.
