Innocent. I am charged with first degree murder. My attorney told me not to plead innocent, doing so would cause me to receive lethal injection. If I valued my life I would listen to him and plead guilty, even though I had not committed the crimes…
In July, 2012, I was illegally detained, forcefully restrained, and interrogated by police who denied my state and federal rights.
Police threatened to harm and possibly cause the death of my elderly mother and grandmother; if I refused to confess as they instructed me to do.
To protect their lives, I gave a false confession. Then I was outside to be Mirandized and taken to jail.

Earlier that day they young woman I had been dating – since May 2012 – called. To inform me she was coming to my residence and for me to watch her daughter. She didn’t wish for her parents “to be burdened with” the thirteen-month-old.
Upon arrival she came directly to my workshop with a screaming angry child. Whoe face was bruised yellow above the left eye and the bulbous part of her nose was scabbed over. She said, “maybe she fell or something”. A few minutes later she left.
I tried foods, movies, and music to comfort her. She cried until she became groggy. I took her to my bed and put her down for a nap, with a thick pillow behind her back. In case she rolled, so as to not fall off the bed.
A short time later I came to check in on her. I noticed her lips were blue and that she wasn’t breathing.
The 911 operator led me through CPR until the EMTs came and took over…
In August 2023 I learnt from the little one’s mother – in a letter – that she had died. For all the months she wrote to me, I did not learn what had happened until my trial.

On December 12th, 2013, I learnt that the little child had been abused, perhaps her entire life. She had suffered subacute hemorrhages – according to the medical examiner – which may have been done days or weeks prior. Then there were acute injuries which occurred the 22nd day of July. The subacute injuries were said to be the cause of her death, by the medical examiner.

In July of 2014, I was watching my cellmates TV when my face popped up on the news. Followed by my ex-girlfriend’s. About evidence obtained from my case, showing that she had been previously abusing her daughter. She was arrested for the child abuse that occurred on April 1st, 2012.
The prosecutor at my trial swore under oath that no evidence existed to point towards another party as guilty…
